Santi Solane Ripasso grapes are hand-picked in late September and placed in crates for immediate dispatch to cellar. This wine goes through a second fermentation using partially dried Amarone whole berries and pomace, using a skilfully updated old technique called RIPASSO that confers elegant, fruity aromas, velvety tannins, power and personality. Santi Solane Ripasso is aged for 18 months in oak.
Santi Solane Ripasso is a very terroir-true wine with great character and personality. It has an attractive deep bright ruby hue and a clean, complex nose with concentrated notes of fresh berries and morello cherries with some Vanilla hints. On the palate, it is warm, direct, and balanced, with an elegant spicy finish offering almonds notes. It has a strong personality thanks to its exceptionally elegant, sophisticated nose and its long, lingering, full-bodied palate. An excellent early drinker, it only improves with time.
Varietal Types: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella
Appellation: Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore DOC
